London clubs active in summer transfer market with Arsenal and Chelsea pursuing new signings
As the summer transfer window approaches, several prominent London clubs, including Arsenal, Chelsea, and Tottenham Hotspur, are actively pursuing new deals. These clubs are aiming to finalise significant transfers before the upcoming World Cup.
Arsenal are reportedly close to securing a deal for Leicester City talent Jeremy Monga. The Gunners have reportedly agreed personal terms with the 16-year-old winger, who has made 37 senior appearances for Leicester. His potential move follows Leicester‘s relegation to League One. Additionally, Paris Saint-Germain defender Emmanuel Mbemba is believed to favour a move to the Emirates Stadium. Arsenal reportedly made an approach for the 18-year-old last week, with his current contract expiring at the end of the month, making him available for a training compensation fee.
The club is also said to be in pursuit of Aston Villa playmaker Morgan Rogers, with reports indicating that Arsenal has opened talks with his representatives. Rogers has attracted interest from several top clubs following a successful season where he helped Unai Emery’s side secure a fourth-place finish in the Premier League and win the Europa League.
Chelsea and Tottenham’s Transfer Activities
Chelsea are reportedly intensifying discussions to make Dusan Vlahovic their first signing under new manager Xabi Alonso. The Juventus striker has been linked with a move to the Premier League previously, with Arsenal and Manchester United among the interested clubs. Reports from Italy suggest that Chelsea are in contact with Vlahovic’s father, who is reportedly considering offers on his son’s behalf. Newcastle is also rumoured to be interested in the Serbian international. Goalkeeper Dean Henderson is also reportedly on Chelsea‘s radar.
Tottenham Hotspur are also making moves in the transfer market. They have already secured the arrival of Andy Robertson on a free transfer from Liverpool and are expected to finalise a deal for Marcos Senesi, who is departing Bournemouth. Furthermore, Tottenham are believed to have agreed personal terms with Brighton defender Jan Paul van Hecke. Brighton chief executive Paul Barber confirmed that Tottenham had two bids for van Hecke rejected, and a third offer is anticipated. Micky van de Ven, a Netherlands teammate, has revealed he discussed Tottenham with van Hecke.
Tottenham are also in pursuit of Manchester City winger Savinho, with whom personal terms have reportedly been agreed for a contract until 2031.
Real Madrid’s Major Bid and Other Developments
Following Florentino Perez‘s re-election as president, Real Madrid is set to launch a significant bid for Bayern Munich star Michael Olise. Perez reportedly vowed to make a £130million bid for Olise during his campaign. Bayern, however, has stated that the former Crystal Palace winger is not for sale. Perez‘s re-election also reportedly ensures the return of Jose Mourinho as manager, 13 years after his initial departure from the Bernabeu. Denzel Dumfries and Ibrahima Konate are reportedly on their way to Madrid, while Mourinho is also said to be interested in signing Arsenal‘s Riccardo Calafiori.
Meanwhile, Manchester United could be leading the race for Morgan Rogers. Reports from earlier in the season quoted Rogers stating there was “no bigger club than Manchester United.” United has already secured a deal for Ederson and would reportedly need to pay £100million to acquire Adam Wharton.
Liverpool is considering reuniting Rayan with Andoni Iraola and exploring a swap deal for Yan Diomande. Dani Olmo is expected to remain at Barcelona.
Arsenal’s potential signing of Jeremy Monga would follow the permanent transfer of Piero Hincapie, who joined on loan last summer from Bayer Leverkusen with an option to buy for approximately £45million. The England U19 international Monga has been linked with several leading clubs after Leicester‘s relegation.
The summer transfer window is expected to be busy as clubs aim to strengthen their squads for the upcoming season, with Arsenal working to finalise a deal with Leicester City for Monga.
